Cattledogs love to be working: it does not have to be on stock, but any activity that keeps them mentally active and thinking.

The sport of agility is a great way to keep your dogs healthy and moving.

The ACD Society has yearly Agility weekends in which we encourage everyone to attend and the focus is on the new dogs and working with all levels of handlers.  So contact Angela Cocker or Brenda Tenten if you are interested.

Congratulations again to Rachael & Winston!

"Hi Adam

Wanted to let everyone know that Winston has had his second win (a full 5 seconds faster than the next dog..... ) at Newlands this weekend and has now qualified for the Agility Club Starters Challenge Final 2008 - there seems to be no stopping him if he manages to go clear - not bad for a dog that had his stomach stapled after torsion a few months back eh??

a very proud owner & handler

Rachael Hutton"

Congratulations to Rachael Hutton and her ACD Winston who has just had his first win at Thames DTC  winning out of Grade 1 with a fast win in the 1 & 2 combined agility. Apparently the time was so much faster than the others that, according to the judge, it had to be double checked!!

Rachael is extremely proud and says, "A way to go yet to match 'Amber's' success, but I have every confidence that he can get there... even if his handler is trailing along in his wake & seemingly holding him back!"

Well done again Rachael & Winston!

Brenda Tentens' Amber (Austmans Amber Nectar at Yettontop) WON
the Medium Senior Agility at Lune Valley Agility Show on 30/09/06,
three seconds ahead of the next dog!
Dogs usually win by thousandths of a second these days.
Just one more win will give her the four wins she needs to go Advanced.
This would make her not only the first ACD to be Senior in Agility in the UK,
but the first to go Advanced too. Wish her luck!!

In the Agility Ring 29 May 2005

At Ribble DTS Agility Show

Amber (Austmans Amber Nectar at Yettontop)

won the Open Midi Jumping class. She was the first dog to run, and set up a cracking pace in a course of twists and turns, to lead from the start, and to finish as top dog, a full second ahead of her nearest rival.

She now needs an agility win to make her into a Senior dog.  And SHE's Made it!!!!!

WAY TO Go!  Anymore dogs out there winning in any shows, let me know.

Agility Success from Amber She is Now a Senior!!!

WOW!

Congrats!

Amber and all of her wins!

Garreg Ddu Eminence "Emma" showing

her speed through the tunnels.  And look at that smile!

Here we are running the dog walk, always at full speed, nothing slower will do.

She's so fast, the camera couldn't even focus on her.  What a Girl!

Look at Corker (Austmans Real Corker) learning how to touch (in Agility a dog must touch the bottom section, the painted section of the board.  So a "touch" is taught to the dog).

Corker coming through the tunnel.  As he is only 10 months old, he is only being trained at low levels in order to not place stress on joints.  Jumps will be trained at low levels till his bones further develop.

Amber is showing how much fun weaves can be, watch her have fun!
